I use a redmi 7a with Android 9.
I wanted to copy exe files I downloaded on wine because I don't find my phone's data on wine. But I don't find where to copy. I tried to create a new folder on wine and it was useless. How is this possible?

Linux • Monkey Island both special editions no sound in wine 4.21

With the workarounds in the database, both Monkey Island SE's (GoG editions) work except for the sound.

I tried overriding xaudio2_4 and xaudio2_6 to native windows but that didn't help.

I'm using wine 4.21 on Manjaro Linux (Kernel 5.3.15-1).

Anyone know a workaround for this?

Linux • "Cannot write key"

On Ubuntu 18.04.3LTS while trying to get wine installed i get stopped at the first step, i cant get it to download the key using wget

CODE:

winehq.key: Permission deniedCannot write to ‘winehq.key’ (Success).
Not sure whats happening here or how to fix it. and im guessing linux has nothing in the way of a normal package file you just click to install.

Deleted, I successfully ran Adobe Audition 3.0 using Wine (version 3.0.3, I think). Stands to reason I should be able to run it again. Installs without issue (once I got the correct dependencies installed, which I think was mostly fonts). If you need any other data for analysis, I can easily provide it. I will continue making attempts to tweak wine to see if I can get the software to open. Any suggestions are welcome during that time.

macOS • Doesn't work on Mojave 10.14.1, worked on High Sierra previously

Some Information:

XQuartz 2.7.11
Official wine-5.0-rc1 (Staging)
Mac OSX Mojave 10.14.1
Mac Gatekeper to allow apps from anywhere to be installed

-----

I'm running Mojave 10.14.1, and I just installed Wine again but as soon as I launched it it said that this app isn't optimized for my mac. I then tried to launch an exe file and got an error. The error log is provided below.

A couple months back I tried using Wine, but among all 10+ programs I tried none worked, with all crashing before even starting up. I don't know why there is no mention of this anywhere on the forum. On my other laptop with high sierra it did work, though it broke down due to liquid damage.

https://pastebin.com/C4Xg6dn4

Is there anything I can do to get this working?

Linux • Office 2013 Home Student - IOPL not enabled

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to install Microsoft Office 2013 on Wine version "wine-5.0-rc1 (Staging)". I'm using setup downloaded from Microsoft site setup.office.com where I needed to log in using Microsoft account and provide my activation key. I've downloaded small (1,1MB) setup, created new 32 bit prefix and installed corefonts and msxml6 using winetricks. Now I'm trying to install Office which fails. Setup runs and installs in background, then it finishes. When I'm trying to run some Office app (for example Word) it doesn't run with error "IOPL not enabled". Any ideas? I'm using openSUSE Tumbleweed.

Linux • WineLib and Unix Domain Sockets.

$

Hello.

I am not 100% sure this forum is appropriate for WineLib questions. If it is not, please let me know (even better if you can point me to the right place).

I have this Windows DLL that I want to be able to wrap in a WineLib program so to minimize the surface of the Windows part on non-Windows platforms. The general idea is to generate an executable that will be started by another program (Linux) and use some sort of IPC for communication between the WineLib one and the Linux one.

Conceptually it looks like this should work, but I hit an issue rigth away. It appears I can not use Unix Domain Sockets to do the IPC (which is what I was considering at first). In more concrete details, in the WineLib C program, this:

socket(AF_UNIX, SOCK_DGRAM, 0)

Will return an invalid argument error.

As i undesratnd it, WineLib was supposed to allow most of the Linux stuff to be used from the program. Is that the case that unix domain sockets can not really be used? Maybe I am just missing something?

I am using winegcc with no special parameters to compile the program.

Thanks in advance.

Linux • Diacritics problem in Qt app on Wine

$
0
0
Hi everyone,

I run Scrivener (https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/overview) under Wine. It is a writing program, built in QT, and I use deadkeys to get diacritics (ë, ê, etc). The problem is that after I start Scrivener, it continues to use the first diacritic I type, no matter what the key combination used is. I can only reset what appears by typing a letter with a diacritic of the opposite case and then typing the one I actually want. E.g. if I start with ê and now want ë, I have to type a capital with a diacritic and then I can get ë.

This happens only with Qt programs under Wine (tested by installing the Windows version of VLC under Wine). If I type diacritics in other programs under Wine, it's fine. If I type diacritics in native Linux Qt programs, it's fine. I've installed ibus and instructed Scrivener to use it, but it doesn't help.

An interesting thing to note: in the file open/save dialog in Scrivener, the diacritics are fine. As far as I know, this will use a native Linux file dialog, which would explain it.

Another user of Scrivener has noted on Literature and Latte's forum that he uses Scrivener under Crossover and Mint and the diacritics are fine (https://www.literatureandlatte.com/foru ... ec32eaef02).

Which all leads me to think that the problem lies in specifically using Qt programs under Wine, but I don't understand either well enough to know if it is in Wine or in Qt? Any suggestion of where to look would be appreciated.

Running Archlinux: 5.4.1-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri, 29 Nov 2019 13:37:24 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
Wine: wine-4.21
Scrivener 1.9.16.0 (Windows)
Also tested with VLC 3.0.8 Vetinari (Windows)
Using a Windows 7 setting and winetricks. Scrivener needs .net 4.6.2, which is installed.

Log output:

Linux • I cannot get dxvk to work.

$

Wine version: wine-5.0-rc1 (Staging)
Winetricks version: 20181203-next

Every time I try and get dxvk to work with a game that has graphics problems, the game fails to start at all.

I have tried a few things but I am just guessing in the dark. I have tried to just get vulkaninfo.exe to run as a starting point. Here are my steps:

1) Use winecfg to create an empty prefix, set to Windows 7 and disable CSMT.
2) Use winetricks to install vulkanrt.
3) Run wine drive_c/windows/system32/vulkaninfo.exe

000b:fixme:winediag:__wine_start_process Wine Staging 5.0-rc1 is a testing version containing experimental patches.
000b:fixme:winediag:__wine_start_process Please mention your exact version when filing bug reports on winehq.org.
0009:err:vulkan:wine_vk_init Failed to load vulkan library
0009:err:vulkan:wine_vk_init Failed to load Wine graphics driver supporting Vulkan.
0009:err:module:LdrInitializeThunk "winevulkan.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
0009:err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Initializing dlls for L"Z:\\wine\\dxvk\\drive_c\\windows\\system32\\vulkaninfo.exe" failed, status c0000142

I have looked online for guides to troubleshooting wine vulkan, but all I find are links with people exclaiming how dxvk solved all their problems. It is causing me more than I started with!

I have no idea how to progress this as I have no idea how wine vulkan works or what its dependencies are or anything. I would be very grateful for any and all help offered.

Wine Help • Jedi Knight - Dark forces 2

Hello! I'm using Ubuntu 19.10 and wine 4.0.2 and wine-development 4.17, trying to run Jedi Knight. The game can not detect supported resolutions and shows only 320x180 && 320x240. When I'm trying to run wine-development it does not updatet screen (I hear UI sounds but screen is freezed). I remember old Ubuntu && wine allow me to play this game without isssues. Also when I run wine with virtual desktop enabled I see all resolutions supported by video card!

Any suggesting, like library overrriding or something to allow game to see all my resolutions?

When I use the forum search, it gives me this message:
Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in 3230 seconds.

I don't mind having to wait a bit, but I'm not so good with doing math in my head.
Can you please give the time in minutes:seconds ?
Or hours:minutes:seconds if it comes to that.

Hi. I have a strange problem with a 3D graphic on mouse moving.

All the games, which I install has one problem - lagging on mouse moving.

Trying on Wine 4.0.3

PC config:
Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15IAP (80XR00R4RA):
- 15.6" (1920x1080) Full HD
- Intel Celeron N3350 (1.1 - 2.4 ГГц)
- RAM 8 Gb
- SSD 128 Gb
- Intel HD Graphics 500

So. If I playing a games with 2D or 2.5D - all fine. A game not lagging. But, if I to start games like GTA SA or TES V: Skyrim and:
1. If not moving a mouse - a game not lagged;
2. If moving a mouse - FPS falling to 1-5 frames per second and very lagging.

Config of Wine:
Wineprefix -> 32
Dll's:
1. d3dx9_36, vcrun2008, or....
2. d3dx9, d3dx9_26, d3dx9_28, d3dx9_31, d3dx9_35, d3dx9_36, d3dx9_42, d3dx10, d3dx11_42, d3dx11_43, d3dxof, devenum, dinput8, dirac, directmusic, directplay, directx9, dmsynth, dotnet11, dotnet20, dotnet30, dxdiagn, gecko110, gecko120, gfw, mfc40, mfc42, msasn1, msxml6, physx, quartz, vcrun2003, vcrun2005, vcrun2008, vcrun6, vcrun6sp6, wmp10, wsh56vb, wsh57, xact, xact_jun2010, xinput, adobeair

Whatever config I was chosen - lags not stop.

Any body can help me?
